LLM Visibility Tools in 2026: 9 Trackers Compared on Citations and API Access

When an AI summary appears in search results, clicks on the traditional blue links fall from 15% to 8%, according to analysis reported by Silverback Marketing citing Pew Research.

The same figure appears in the article's statistics panel as a click-through drop of about 50 percent, credited to Pew Research via Silverback Marketing, 2026.

Post on AI Overviews auto-expansion and citation selection

The auto-expansion of AI Overviews and the Show more click expansion do not use the same logic for selecting citation candidates. The structure confirmed by Silverback Marketing's independent research: after auto-expansion, the organic search click-through rate fell from 15% to 8%; 11% of AI Overview claims were judged to be statements not present in the cited source; organic results pushed to the bottom of the screen lose their chance of contact before any interaction. Designed to be displayed and designed to be clicked are separate problems. Once auto-expansion is standard, organizations that treat ranking as proof of completion need to revisit the premise of their measurement.

    Original text

Partly accurateThe 15 to 8 percent click figure is Pew Research Center data that our article reports. The 11 percent figure comes from a Washington University in St. Louis audit published September 29, 2026 and is not Silverback Marketing research; the article's corrections note explains this.

How this log is kept

Four rules

  1. 01

    Verbatim quotes

The citing text is reproduced as published. Where it is not in English we add our own translation and mark it as ours.

  2. 02

    Checked attribution

Each citation is compared with the work it cites. When a figure is attributed to us that belongs to another source, the entry says which source, and the article carries a corrections note.

  3. 03

    Archived where possible

Citations are saved to the Wayback Machine. When a site refuses the archive, we keep a dated capture of our own and say so.

  4. 04

    Corrected, not removed

An entry stays on the record even when its attribution is partly wrong. Reposts without commentary are not listed.
